LocalBiz vs Podium
Podium talks to your customers once they find you. LocalBiz builds the website and writes the pages that help them find you.
The short answer
Choose Podium if you want review requests by text, one inbox for texts, calls, email and social messages, web chat, payments and an AI Employee that answers leads. It does all of that and LocalBiz doesn't. Choose LocalBiz if you need a website, service and city pages, and a blog that keeps publishing, with prices you can see before you buy. They do different jobs, so many businesses could use both.

What Podium does well
- Reviews by text. Podium collects reviews by sending requests to customers by text.
- One inbox. Texts, calls, email and social messages land in the same place.
- Leads answered fast. The AI Employee add-on replies, qualifies leads and books appointments.
- Getting paid. Podium Payments lets you take payment from the same tool.
- Text marketing. AI-written text campaigns to your customer list.
Where LocalBiz is different
- A website, not an inbox. LocalBiz builds the full site, then writes service pages, city pages and blog posts for it. Podium doesn't build websites.
- Rank tracking included. LocalBiz checks where each keyword ranks on Google, top 30 on mobile, in every area you serve, each month.
- Your site is yours. The code lives in your own GitHub and deploys to your own Vercel, so you can leave with it.
- Prices on the page. LocalBiz starts at $25/mo, billed month to month by card. Podium asks you to talk to sales.
Which one to choose
- your customers like to text, and you want one inbox for it
- you want more Google reviews, asked for by text
- you want AI to answer leads and book jobs after hours
- you need a website, or a better one
- you want service and city pages written for you
- you want prices you can see and no sales call
Pricing compared
Starter: 100 credits a month, unlimited businesses. Plans go up to $250 for 1,000 credits. Month to month.
Podium doesn't publish prices; its pricing page says to talk to sales. CostBench, a third-party pricing site, lists Core at $399 and Pro at $599 a month, with Signature by quote. Podium hasn't confirmed those figures. The AI Employee is an add-on to any plan.
Note: LocalBiz sites run on your own Vercel account. Vercel's free plan is for non-commercial use, so a business site may need Vercel's paid plan.
Using both, or switching
- Keep Podium for texting and reviews, if they work for you.
- Add your business to LocalBiz and let it suggest service and city pages.
- Build your site with LocalBiz, on code that stays in your own GitHub.
- Add Podium's web chat to the new site so leads still reach your inbox.
