The short answer

Choose Whitespark if you want detailed rank tracking, cheap Maps grids, citation help or review requests, and you're happy to buy each tool on its own. LocalBiz doesn't do Maps grids, citations or reviews. Choose LocalBiz if you need a website with a page for every service and area, and a blog that keeps publishing. Whitespark's website is a one-page copy of your Google profile. Many businesses run both: Whitespark to measure, LocalBiz to create.

What Whitespark does well

  • Detailed rank tracking. It splits local pack, Maps and regular results, on Google and Bing, and can track daily.
  • Cheap ways in. Maps grids start at $10 a month and the rank tracker at $14, so you only pay for what you use.
  • Citation know-how. A Citation Finder plus a listings service where people build and clean up citations for you.
  • Guards your Google profile. Its Local Platform warns you when Google changes your profile and lets you undo it.
  • Well-known research. Its yearly Local Search Ranking Factors survey is widely cited.

Where LocalBiz is different

  • It makes the pages. Whitespark shows where you rank. LocalBiz writes the service pages, city pages and posts that give Google something to rank.
  • A real website, not a profile copy. Whitespark's site is one page built from your Google profile. LocalBiz builds a full site, and the code lives in your own GitHub.
  • One plan instead of several. Credits are shared across unlimited businesses, and unused credits roll over up to twice your monthly amount.
  • Posts that publish themselves. Blog posts are scheduled and go live on their own, on a LocalBiz site, WordPress or Webflow.

Which one to choose

Choose Whitespark if…
  • Maps pack position is what you're judged on
  • you want daily rank tracking or Bing results
  • you need citations found, built or cleaned up
  • you want review requests by email or text
Choose LocalBiz if…
  • you need a website, or a better one
  • you want service and city pages written for you
  • you want a blog that keeps publishing without you

Pricing compared

LocalBiz$25/mo

Starter: 100 credits a month, unlimited businesses. Plans go up to $250 for 1,000 credits. Month to month.

Whitespark$10/mo

Local Ranking Grids, the cheapest tool. Each tool is billed on its own: the rank tracker is $14 to $200 a month, Citation Finder $33 to $149, and Reputation Builder $79 per location. The total depends on how many you stack.

Note: LocalBiz sites run on your own Vercel account. Vercel's free plan is for non-commercial use, so a business site may need Vercel's paid plan.

Using both, or switching

  1. Keep Whitespark for rank tracking, grids and citations, if you rely on them.
  2. Add your business to LocalBiz and let it suggest service and city pages.
  3. Build a full site to replace the one-page profile site, or publish to the WordPress or Webflow site you already have.
  4. Watch both: Whitespark for Maps and daily ranks, LocalBiz for monthly regular Google results.

Questions

Can LocalBiz replace Whitespark?

Only if you don't need Maps grids, daily tracking, citations or review tools. If you do, keep Whitespark and use LocalBiz for your site and content.

Doesn't Whitespark build websites too?

It offers a one-page site that copies your Google Business Profile, as part of its Local Platform. It doesn't write service pages, city pages or blog posts.

Which is cheaper?

One Whitespark tool can cost less than LocalBiz, which starts at $25 a month. But each tool is a separate bill, and Reputation Builder is priced per location. They also do different jobs, so many businesses pay for both.

Is there a free trial?

Whitespark gives 200 free grid credits and a 14-day trial on its rank tracker. LocalBiz has no trial; plans are month to month.
