LocalBiz vs Wix

Wix gives you a hosted site and the tools to design it. LocalBiz writes the local pages and blog posts, and puts the code in your own GitHub.

Wix details checked October 12, 2026Not affiliated with Wix

The short answer

Choose Wix if you want to design the site yourself, with hosting included, a free plan to start on, and Google Business Profile tools in the same dashboard. Choose LocalBiz if you need a page for every service and every area you cover, a blog that keeps publishing, and rank tracking for each of those keywords. Wix leaves that local content to you.

The trade-off is setup. LocalBiz doesn't host your site: you connect your own GitHub and Vercel accounts when you start. Wix needs no setup step like that.

What Wix does well

  • A mature toolset. Booking, online stores, a blog and a big app market, all in one place.
  • Business Profile tools built in. You can edit your Google profile and reply to reviews from the Wix dashboard. Most builders can't do that.
  • Design control. Drag anything anywhere, or use the AI chat builder to get a first draft.
  • Hosting is included, so there's nothing else to set up or pay for.
  • A free plan to try it, though it can't use your own domain.

Where LocalBiz is different

  • It writes the local pages. Wix gives you an editor. LocalBiz writes a page for every service and every area you serve, so you don't build them one by one.
  • The blog keeps going. Posts are written, scheduled and published on their own. Adding them to your site is free.
  • Your site is yours. The code lives in your own GitHub and runs on your own Vercel account. If you leave, the site stays.
  • It tracks where you rank. Every keyword in every area, on regular Google results, in any country. Wix doesn't track rankings.

Which one to choose

Choose Wix if…
  • you want to design every page yourself
  • you want hosting included with no setup
  • you manage your Google profile and reviews and want it in one dashboard
  • you want to start on a free plan
Choose LocalBiz if…
  • you serve several areas and need a page for each
  • you want a blog that keeps publishing without you
  • you want to own your site's code
  • you run more than one business

Pricing compared

LocalBiz$25/mo

Starter: 100 credits a month, unlimited businesses. Plans go up to $250 for 1,000 credits. Month to month.

Wix$17/mo

Light plan, on a yearly plan paid in full. Core is $29, Business $39 and Business Elite $159. Wix shows USD for reference only, the free domain lasts one year, and renewal prices aren't listed on the plans page.

Note: LocalBiz sites run on your own Vercel account. Vercel's free plan is for non-commercial use, so a business site may need Vercel's paid plan.

Using both, or switching

  1. Keep your Wix site live while you set up LocalBiz.
  2. Connect your own GitHub and Vercel accounts, then build the homepage and blog.
  3. Let LocalBiz write your service and city pages, and add them to the site.
  4. Point your domain at the new site. Wix can't export, so your old pages stay on Wix.

Questions

Can LocalBiz replace Wix?

For a local service business, often yes. But LocalBiz has no contact form yet, no Business Profile or review tools, and no drag-and-drop editor. If you rely on those, Wix does more.

Which is cheaper?

Wix starts at $17 a month on a yearly plan, with hosting included. LocalBiz starts at $25 a month, month to month, and you host on your own Vercel account, which may need a paid plan for a business site. If you run several businesses, LocalBiz's one credit pool covers them all.

Can I move my Wix pages to LocalBiz?

Not directly. Wix doesn't export sites. LocalBiz writes fresh pages for the new site instead.

Is there a free trial?

Wix has a free plan and a 14-day money-back guarantee on paid plans. LocalBiz has no trial; plans are month to month, billed in USD by card.

Will my site show LocalBiz branding?

Yes. Every LocalBiz site has a small "Powered by LocalBiz" link in the footer, and it can't be removed.
